My name is Roger Blancarte and ever since junior high, I’ve always known that I wanted to be an entrepreneur, I just didn’t know it would be doing something so fun and interesting!

Growing up, my parents weren’t too computer savvy. This made my interest in computers a struggle as I progressed through school and saw the true power of computers and the internet. My older brother, Matt (Co-Founder of Unique Blog Designs and Highlighter), managed to sway our parents into upgrading the family computer every few years until he eventually made his first custom PC. I learned a lot of what I know about computer hardware from him because of it.

In high school, I was using most of my electives (which was maybe one most of the time) to take computer science classes. Nearing the end of my junior year, I was reading more and more into design, code, internet businesses, and even grew to know the ins and outs behind affiliate marketing. With all the knowledge I had accumulated, I decided that I needed to amerce myself into a real business setting and began working with Unique Blog Designs as an intern. This was towards the end of my first year of college at Central Washington University just last spring. After working all summer and starting Gamermoves.com (sold – September 2010), I knew that I wanted to put all of my time and effort towards web design and starting my own internet business.

Over the past eight months I can honestly say I’ve learned a ton and have begun to focus my efforts. I’ve sold sites, designed sites for clients, and started my own affiliate network, Original Haute. I’m always happy to help out with fun projects that people are pursuing, so feel free to contact me if you looking for a cool, new design or help!

I just started as the Community Manager at Highlighter and I’m more excited than ever to be a part of the team. Highlighter allows users to highlight, share, and comment across all digital platforms including websites, e-books, pdf’s, and more. As Community Manager, I’ll be answering user questions and concerns via Twitter, Facebook, and the Highlighter Forums. If you’re interested in trying it out, goHighlighter.com and check it out!

It’s clear that my future lies with the internet and it’s constant need for inovation. Being a contributor to the internet revolution that has been taking place for the past two decades is something that will keep me going forever.
